Raylynna Peterson
Divorce & Family Law Attorney
A dedicated, experienced divorce lawyer, Raylynna Peterson has a varied background that gives her a legal perspective like few other local attorneys. She’s a staunch advocate and a valuable resource for her clients in the Portland area in divorce, custody, and other family law cases.
Throughout her career, Raylynna has practiced in many areas. She began in corporate law, working for an insurance defense firm, and has plied her trade in estate planning, personal injury litigation, and real estate law, among others.
Initially drawn to family law by the opportunity to appear in court often, she quickly found that her natural empathy was a significant asset in this field. She finds great satisfaction in helping people through the process of opening up their personal and financial lives to judicial scrutiny with compassion and an effective legal strategy.
“Sometimes the reasons for divorce are heart-wrenching,” she says. “But every time, when the dust settles and the divorce judgment finally gets entered, I get to see a client who is relieved, hopeful about their fresh start, and grateful.”
Raylynna earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon, where she double majored in history and political science. From there, she began her legal journey at Whittier Law School in California, where she earned her Juris Doctor.
Outside of the office, Raylynna is passionate about maintaining strong, positive relationships with her loved ones. During the warmer months, she loves to take advantage of the natural amenities the area offers and can often be found camping, swimming, and exploring with her daughters and dog in tow. When not spending time with her family, she enjoys building things, progressing from garden planters to trellis structures, custom fences and gates, and even a greenhouse.
